Meet the Instructors

 Stephen Goode-  Chief Instructor

        3rd Dan Black belt

I am 36 years old and have three boys and a little girl, Dylan (16), Ryan (12), Zach (9), and Kasey (2).  All three boys are students of Tae Kwon Do. I started studying Tae Kwon Do in 1996 at Jarrettsville Tae Kwon Do.  I have dedicated a large part of my life to Tae Kwon Do over the last 12 years  I am still very much a student of the art of TKD and probably always will be.  I first knew I wanted to be an instructor in 1999 when I was asked to help coach the Junior Olympic team and I have never looked back.  I am constantly trying to improve as an instructor and coach.  I am a two time state medalist in sparring and forms at the Maryland Tae Kwon Do Associations Annual Tournament.

I am a Nationally certified Level 2 coach with the USAT and a locally certified coach for the AAU.  I am trained in CPR, First Aid and Basic Life Saving Skills.  I have coached several local and national champions from the Harford County area.  I am involved in the sport TKD movement in the state and the nation.  I have a direct pipeline to the National Olympic Team and the National Junior Olympic Team through the USAT and the AAU.

Craig Oktavec- Instructor

    2nd Dan Black belt

I am 38 years old and am married with two boys, Mitchell (12) and Will (9).  Actually, they are responsible for me starting Tae Kwon Do.  I joined Steve’s class shortly after my son’s did, in the summer of 2003.  I am a state medalist in sparring at the Maryland Tae Kwon Do Associations Annual Tournament.  Currently, I assist Steve with coaching our tournament team.  I am a locally certified Class C coach for the AAU.  Over the past year, I have really enjoyed taking a more instructional role in our classes.  I like helping others see the benefits, both physical and mentally, of Tae Kwon Do.
